About PENOPLEX / Insulation of aerodromes

SNiP 32-03-96, Airports, describes a number of measures for preventing or minimizing the effects regular use and natural factors, and unfavorable properties of soils on a runway surface, including the use of insulating layers from PENOPLEX^® boards, necessary for the construction, expansion, and repair of airport facilities in order to prevent them from the maximum vertical deformation and damaging.

To augment the existing norms and regulations for airport design, PI i NII VT Lenaeroproekt has designed the Manual for Using PENOPLEX^® Insulating Material in Airport Structures for Permafrost and Frost Heaving Soils that has been approved by the Department of Airports of the National Service for Civic Aviation of the Ministry of Transportation of the Russian Federation.

The Manual contains design considerations for constructing foundations of airport structures using PENOPLEX^®, as well as particular technologies for construction work using PENOPLEX^® insulating boards.
