About the company / History

1998. The company began manufacture of PENOPLEX® insulating boards from extruded foamed polystyrene.

Manufacturing facilities were built in Kirishi, Leningrad Region. And in June, the first batch of thermal insulation boards was produced.

2000. In summer 2000, in order to meet the growing demand of the Russian construction market for high-quality insulating materials, we launched a second production line for the manufacture of boards from extruded foamed polystyrene. The total production output of the plant reached 230000 cu. meters per year.

The PENOPLEX® plant is equipped with advanced equipment by the Italian company, LMP Impianti. These advanced manufacturing technologies allowed for automating the entire production process, from feeding raw materials to packaging finished products. The plant has a certified laboratory that monitors physical and mechanical properties of the products and issues quality assurance certificates for every batch.

2001. Excellent properties of PENOPLEX® and our proactive policy on the construction market helped us occupy the leading positions in the are of manufacture of insulating materials with a great lead over our international competitors. Demand for PENOPLEX grew by several times. This gave and incentive for expansion to the company’s executives. In August 2001, a third production facility was launched, which extended the company’s product range and increased the production output of PENOPLEX® boards to 380000 cu. meters per year.

polystyrene manufacturing plant2003. New polystyrene manufacturing plant. The quality of products greatly depend on the raw materials. Until recently, the company used the services of international suppliers. In order to lower production costs and maintain the high quality of the raw material – general purpose polystyrene – the company decided to organize its own polystyrene manufacture. In December 2003, we launched a plant for the manufacture of general purpose polystyrene under the Styrovit trademark.

2004. Launch of new production facilities. The continuously growing demand for PENOPLEX stimulated another expansion of production facilities. In summer of 2004, two new production lines for the manufacture of extruded foamed polystyrene were launched increasing the total output of the plant to 500000 cu. meters per year.

2005. Launch of new production facilities in Perm. In order to satisfy the demand of the Russian construction market for high-quality insulation, the company was working on increasing its production facilities. In 2005, a new production facility for the manufacture of insulating boards was launched in Perm. The production capacity of the plant in Perm was 300000 cu. meters per year.

2006. A new production line was launched at the plant in Kirishi. The production capacity of the new line is 80000 cu. meters per year. Now, the plant in Kirishi is the largest manufacturer in Russia.

2006. A third PENOPLEX plant was launched in Novosibirsk. The total production output of the company grew once more and now reaches 800000 cu. meters of XPS (extruded polystyrene) per year.

2006. PENOPLEX signed an agreement with German manufacturers. The agreement covered supplies of five production lines for the manufacture of insulating boards. In 2007, the lines will be installed at plants in Kirishi, Novosibirsk, Perm, and at a plant in Taganrog, currently under construction. The new equipment will increase the production capacity of the plant and allow the company to reach the total output of 2 million cu. meters of PENOPLEX® per year. This will completely satisfy the demand of the Russian market of insulating materials from extruded polystyrene even during the peak consumption months. This will not only allow the company to maintain its leading position in Russia , but will also make it one of the three largest manufacturers of insulating materials in Europe.
