Many older buildings today do not meet contemporary requirements for thermal insulation. Energy saving and protecting the environment from the every increasing atmospheric pollution in cities requires us to take additional measures for insulating buildings.

Improved insulation also allows for significant saving of expenses on heating, thus providing return on investment in construction already in few years. Another advantage of insulating, is a more comfortable temperature inside in the summer.

How can you repair a flat roof with insufficient insulation to comply with contemporary requirements with minimum investments?

The easiest method is to build a so-called Roof-plus. The existing loading is removed and the top covering of the roof is examined by a specialist and repaired if necessary. PENOPLEX^® boards are placed onto the repaired and cleaned covering. Then a guarding layer is installed (if necessary) and then it is covered with gravel loading.

The actual parameters of the new insulating layer are calculated based on economic considerations. The insulation layer should be keep at temperatures above freezing. To achieve this, the thermal resistance of the PENOPLEX^® boards must not be lower than that of the existing roofing.
