About PENOPLEX / Insulation of walls / Insulation of walls
Insulating exterior walls is also one of the important steps in insulating houses. Depending on the design, up to 45 per cent of heat can escape through walls.
Insulating hollow walls
One of the most cost-effective methods of preserving heat is insulating hollow walls. To achieve a long-lasting results, you need to use materials that is resistant to deformation and waterproof, because once installed it will be impractical and very difficult to repair and restore such walls.
PENOPLEX® insulating boards have a high resistance to vapor penetration, do not absorb water, and do not decompose or age for a long time. Thanks to these properties, PENOPLEX® has recommended itself as the best material for insulating hollow walls.
The ledge-shaped edges of the boards offers reliable joining during installation. The boards are installed flush with the supporting wall.

Internal wall insulation
Internal insulation of walls is especially recommended when you need to quickly heat a room in a building and the building is a historical or cultural heritage, you cannot replace the facade, or when it is impossible to instal exterior insulation (for example, in basements). PENOPLEX® is widely used for these purposes, because it has excellent, long-lasting insulating properties and is easy to work and install. PENOPLEX® boards have a rough surface for better adhesion with interior finish material: dry and wet plaster and decorative tiles.
It is also important to install insulation behind heaters, because walls are usually thinner there. PENOPLEX® boards are easy to install behind radiators and finish them using traditional techniques.
Cold bridges
Cold bridges cause heat losses and lead to a formation of spots on the ceiling and walls because of internal condensation. Often it may cause mold to develop in these places.
PENOPLEX® boards offer a simple solution for eliminating cold bridges. Before pouring concrete, install a layer of PENOPLEX® boards along the top of a concrete slab. Boards with a rough surface ensure secure adhesion between concrete and plaster and can be used in vertical structures (window openings, parapets, balconies) where they will provide the necessary adhesion with materials and other adhesives.
The best effect for protecting against cold bridges is achieved by insulating the exterior surface of buildings with thermal insulating materials. This method is easier and requires less time than internal insulation. It also offers protection from condensation. For this method we recommend using PENOPLEX® boards with a rough surface as it offers better adhesion with finishing materials.
As a rule, the boards are secured to the exterior surfaces of the wall by means of special fixtures and then covered with a metal or polymer mesh and a cement mix (plaster).
