Laying PENOPLEX® boards
If you lay PENOPLEX® boards on top of a leveling layer, you can lay a hydroinsulating membrane over PENOPLEX. If you use traditional bitumen slates, a hydroinsulating membrane can go on top of the concrete underneath PENOPLEX. In the soil is only moderately humid and the water evaporation is low, it is sufficient to use one or two layers of a thin polyethylene film on top of a layer of insulation laid over a gravel or crushed rock cushion. The film will double as an intermediary layer and vapor insulation on the warm side of the layer of thermal insulation. This is a simple solution that is easy to implement and has a number of advantages from the point of view of the physics of construction. It is important to prevent the formation of cold bridges where the floor meets the walls and provide enough room for the expansion due to heat.
